Drawing inspiration from traditional landscape painting and employing gestures adopted from Bob Ross' The Joy of Painting, Neil Raitt inserts contemporary fluidity into his depictions of the organic sublime. Raitt's densely patterned compositions are near psychedelic in nature, providing viewers with a kaleidoscopic perspective of the boundaries between abstraction and representation; civilization and nature; and flatness and depth.
