Antique Tramp Art Wall Cabinet

Late 19th/Early 20th Century

Description:

Hand-carved wooden wall cabinet with glass front panel. Features chip-carved geometric patterns on the frame and pillars, complemented by scrollwork flourishes. Constructed from mixed wood types, evident in the two-tone finish. Functional hinged door with original glass intact. Unusual side panels with metal screen vents. Stand in photos is NOT included.

Dimensions:

16.25"H × 8.5"W × 4.75"D

Materials/Construction:

- Primary wood: Repurposed hardwood (likely cigar box or crate wood)

- Secondary wood: Lighter tone wood for accents

- Original metal hinges and screen vents

Condition:

- Structurally sound

- Surface wear including minor scratches and finish loss

- No repairs/unsure if glass is original to the piece or more contemporary

Notable Features:

1. Combination of chip-carved and smooth surfaces

2. Functional door mechanism

3. Ventilated side compartments

4. Visible tool marks from hand carving

Provenance:

American, consistent with tramp art tradition (1870-1930)
