Serge Jolimeau (b. 1952) is a Haitian artist and master metal sculptor, renowned for his intricate works in repoussé, a traditional Haitian metalworking technique. Born in Croix-des-Bouquets, Haiti, Jolimeau has become one of the most important figures in Haitian art, elevating the craft of metal sculpture to a fine art form. His works often draw from Haitian culture, incorporating Vodou symbolism, natural elements, and scenes of everyday life, all rendered with exceptional detail and creativity. Using recycled materials, particularly steel drums, Jolimeau transforms industrial objects into delicate, lace-like sculptures that resemble at times Victorian Silhouette Profile Art.

His pieces have been featured in prominent exhibitions at institutions such as the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C., the Museum of International Folk Art in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and the Fowler Museum at UCLA in Los Angeles, California. His sculptures are also held in the collections of the Smithsonian American Art Museum, the Musée d’Art Haïtien du Collège Saint-Pierre in Port-au-Prince, and the Musée du Panthéon National Haïtien (MUPANAH), among others. Additionally, his work has been showcased at various international art fairs and cultural festivals, further cementing his reputation as a leading figure in Haitian art.

Beyond his artistic achievements, Jolimeau has played a pivotal role in preserving and innovating the tradition of Haitian metal sculpture. He has mentored younger generations of artists in Croix-des-Bouquets, ensuring the continuation of this unique art form.
