$925.00

Italian Hand-Carved Alabaster Dog Bookends (Pair)

Description:

This pair of vintage Italian bookends showcases the skilled artistry of mid-20th century alabaster carving. Crafted from fine white alabaster with delicate grey veining, the sculptures depict stylized canine figures, likely hunting dogs or guard dogs, rendered in a classic European decorative tradition. The bases appear to be a painted marble treatment on natural stone. The smooth, polished surface highlights the natural translucency and soft luster of the stone, while the minimal wear—including light surface scratches and scuffs—attests to their age and gentle use.

Features & Condition:

- Material: High-quality white alabaster with subtle natural veining

- Base: Fitted with original green felt pads to protect surfaces

- Condition: good, with minor age-consistent wear; no significant damage. Soft scratches and scuffs present. Please refer to photos for details.

- Dimensions: 6.75”H x 5.5”W x 2.75”D (each)
